Greetings, my friends! š
I'm really happy with myself right now :) (which takes a Lot.)
Anyone who's been following the progress of this latest book knows it's been an inexorably long process. Getting back into drawing Page 14 took sheer grit.
So I sat down, eliminated ALL distractions, and intensely focused the last two days.
I'm super pleased to report that, as a result, Page 15 is done too now, and it turned out really well! (of course, final reviews/edits still remain.)
This one was challenging...
Drawing multiple characters in various poses is very time-consuming. Yes, I duplicate, rotate & mirror some of the angels to fill in background spots, but first I must do a TON of initial drawing on multiple layers to create all of my main unique "models."
I like how the final image of all of the angels "came together."š
The detail work on the close-up angel was also fun. Doing stuff like that takes me back to my younger days, when I loved doing highly detailed graphite/pen& ink drawings on all kinds of subject matter....Good memories.
The HUGE bonus with digital art is it's far more forgiving. Making a mistake on fixed media can be irreparable. On a drawing tablet (within limits) you can simply click "undo." You have all the creative tools at your disposal, without any stress re: making mistakes. That frees you to explore all kinds of creative ideas completely uninhibited.
