Hello everyone!šŸ˜

Yesterday, I went through my completed manuscripts and selected the NEXT Book to illustrate! I did some major edits, and now it's ready for adding illustrations.šŸ˜


Starting this one is EXHILARATING, as I finally tackle a long-term goal: speeding up illustrating using AI!

I'm learning exponentially, & adapting the process accordingly.

I'm using multiple AI platforms from Canva Pro to ChatGPT to generate separate preliminary CONCEPT Character poses, then also appropriate CONCEPT Background sketches.

I edit/combine those backgrounds & characters, changing size/orientation/style/other details until they "mesh."

Then I massively hand-edit details in those combined concept sketches further using Sketchbook Pro, CorelDRAW & Corel PHOTOPaint, until I'm satisfied.

Last, in CorelDRAW, I add all the TEXT elements to create my final images. This book will be the first where I incorporate "Transparency," so you'll be able to see the background images through the text boxes! A neat upgrade.


Anyone who thinks AI just does EVERYTHING for you is misguided. It can, but you'll get an amateur, crappy product with errors that way.

There's still a PILE of additional "human" work needed to create what I envision.


Even so, using AI tools does seem to significantly boost speed and productivity, so it's worth trying out.

It's all adding up to a big LEAP in "POLISH" for the newest book, and for the PROCESS!
