What truly MATTERS in Life?

Hey Friends,😀

Not often I share posts not directly about the business, but this does indirectly affect my work:

I was listening to today's "The Daily Bread," and the scripture resonated with me:

Ecclesiastes 9:7-10 NKJV

7 Go, eat your bread with joy, And drink your wine with a merry heart; For God has already accepted your works. 8 Let your garments always be white, And let your head lack no oil.

9 [a]Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life which He has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity; for that is your portion in life, and in the labour which you perform under the sun.

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

Personally, I am guilty of ALWAYS striving, never being satisfied with where I am at in Life, and constantly being discontented with the speed at which I move/do not move towards my goals. I have this fiery burning desire to somehow Prove my value and earn the respect of my human peers.

I believe it is a positive trait to be driven, and to seek self-improvement, but it becomes a curse when it steals your joy in the present.

Sometimes tough things happen in Life that may be outside your control, whether they be health issues, loss of jobs/income, moving, divorce, death etc. The older one gets the more likely it is that they will encounter such events over the years. Inevitably, they will alter the trajectory of your life, and each person must adjust, without allowing those tough events to "dampen" their spirit.

I think the ability to adapt and learn is the single most valuable skill you can have in this rapidly changing world. But sometimes we over-complicate Life.

When I read today's scripture it was a much-needed affirmation for me that I am going about Life well, but it's also alright to "take a breath," because our time here is finite.

  1. It IS OK to find joy in "SIMPLE pleasures;" good, food, drink, and fellowship!

  2. It is good to keep a PURE, humble heart (white garments) and faith (anointed with oil.)

  3. I am blessed with a wonderful Wife. 🥰 It IS important to take joy in prioritizing time doing simple stuff with her, whether it's going for walks or watching movies together. If that was all we ever did, (it isn't) God is saying that it would still be fine, for it is our "portion" in life.

  4. It is good that I give it my "ALL" in everything I do. I just have to find peace in accepting that I can't do that 24/7!

  5. There is a solemn reminder that we are all destined for a grave, (life is short) so it is important to focus our daily attention on simple Joy, rather than be consumed with the struggles of life.

So, be encouraged today to find JOY in the basic blessings in your life. I'm going to try harder to do just that.

Blessings😃
